What's New with Me?

I've been doing so much cool new stuff lately!  Read on to find out more!!!

I Love Being Me!!!

Ever since you last heard from me, I've been doing lots of cool new stuff.  I'm doing really well on baby food and I love love love eating!  It's my favorite thing to do!  Daddy likes being silly and giving me pizza crusts and french fries to chew on.  I can't swallow them yet, so it's funny to see them hanging out of my mouth.  I made Mommy put up some pictures.

I started sitting up on my own at the end of August, even though I was still a little unstable at first.  I didn't really get the hang of it for another month or so.

I started crawling at the beginning of October.  I can't believe it!  Mommy says I have a "gimp crawl" because I don't use both of my feet to push with.  I push the floor with my right foot and drag my left leg along on the ground behind me.  It's pretty funny to watch.

In the past week or so, I've also started pulling myself up to standing all by myself on the couch, chair, box, or anything that I can get my hands on!  Mommy and Gamma both say that at this rate, I'll be walking by 10 months!  I'm in no hurry, though, because once I really get going, they'll never be able to stop me!

As of today, I still don't have any teeth yet.  My gums are hurting pretty badly, I think my bottom front teeth are really about to pop through this time.  I can't sleep, I drool a lot more, I don't feel like eating as much, and I also have a low-grade fever most of the time.  Mommy says I'm pretty cranky, too, but what she doesn't know is that I just act like that to get her attention.  It works every time!

I went through a little bit of separation anxiety a few weeks ago, but it only lasted about a month or so.  I understand that when my Mommy leaves, it doesn't mean she isn't coming back, and I get to spend time with my Auntie JJ and Cousin Luke while Mommy is at work!  My friend Whitney comes over to play sometimes, too!

I am talking a lot more and can make these sounds:  "ba", "ma", "da", "ah", "wa".  I haven't formed any words yet, so all bets are still going as to what my first word will be.  Mommy thinks it will be Mama, Daddy thinks it will be Daddy, but I'm going to surprise them all and say, "Gamma".  At least, that's what my Gamma hopes.

I like playing with other children, but not ones around my age.  I get really jealous when we are around Faith, and Savannah, because I'm used to being the only baby around and I want to make sure no one is trying to step on my territory, and that would mean my Mommy.  She's mine, all mine, and no one else can have her.  Got that?  So don't even try.

I have learned to express my feelings more, too.  I cry when I need something, but I also am learning how to be manipulative and cry when I want attention.  Ain't it great being a baby!!!  Also, I will let you know when I am mad, I scrunch up my face and turn beet red and yell yell yell!!!

I am starting to enjoy being a baby.  At first, it was pretty boring, because I couldn't move or do much of anything, and I had to have help no matter what I did.  Now that I am becoming more self-sufficient, I am having more fun.  I like to eat Mommy's keyboard, and the television remote.  That's why I have my own keyboard, remote, and cell phone.  I'm going after my Daddy's X-Box controller next, but don't tell on me!

That's pretty much it for now!  I hope everyone is doing well and I will make Mommy update again around Halloween so that you can all see my beautiful costume!  I won't tell you what it is, because it's a SURPRISE!!!

Love ya!
